Yoga teachers, Diane Ziegner and Kate Gibbs are proud to announce their first Yoga Teacher Training to be held at Studio Z Yoga’s yurt in Talkeetna, Alaska. Studio Z’s 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training is designed to provide students with the tools for developing a strong individual yoga practice and entry-level skills in the art and science of teaching yoga. The training emphasizes expanding a student’s practice of yoga and cultivating the skills and knowledge base for success in teaching yoga.
Topics to be explored include the roots of yoga through the ancient teachings and texts of the tradition, self care, exposure to a variety of asana practices, and the subtle nature of chakras, pranayama, and chanting. From a strong practice foundation of alignment-based asana, students will learn, practice, and hone their skills of teaching yoga.
The Studio Z Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) is currently under review by Yoga Alliance. Approval by Yoga Alliance is pending and students who completes this training can register with them as a 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200).
Diane Ziegner, CYT, eRYT200, RYT500, YACEP
Diane has been teaching yoga for over 20 years and is the owner/instructor of Studio Z Yoga in Talkeetna. As a Certified Yoga Therapist, Diane uses a variety of tools to assist students in decreasing pain, improving mobility, and learning self-care. Over the years Diane’s approach to teaching yoga has softened from strict body alignment and shifted more towards balancing the mind, body and heart. With that balance in mind, Diane encourages her students to practice yoga in a manner that supports their lifestyle and interests. Diane’s classes allow students to develop strength, balance, functional movement, understanding of anatomical alignment, as well as flexibility in a safe and supportive way. Her primary teacher include Lynne Minton, Chris Coniaris and Sarahjoy Marsh and she is deeply grateful for their guidance.
Kate Gibbs, A.A.S, RYT200
Kate believes that yoga is about curiosity and connection; an invitation to step into full integration of body, mind, and spirit. As a student, you won’t find Kate on her mat every day. Kate is the yogi that does tree pose in line at the coffee shop, downward dog at the kitchen table, and inversions in the mountains. For Kate, yoga is soaked into every moment and expressed as skillful understanding of her body’s needs. In the classroom, Kate teaches students how to access their body’s innate intelligence so that the breath is freer, the body is more integrated, and the mind is quieter. Since Kate received her 200h yoga teaching certificate in 2015, she has logged over 300 hours of additional training, including training in acroyoga, Thai body work, and assisting Align Yoga with a 200 hour teacher training in 2016.
